Dr. Bolin of the Murray State Department of History will appear at the Southern Kentucky Book Fest for his book Home and Away: A Professor’s Journal. He will also serve as a panelist speaking on travel writing.

James Duane Bolin, PhD, is a professor of history at Murray State, teaching classes about the history of sports, Kentucky, and America. His book is a collection of essays from his beloved weekly column Home and Away, which appears in publications like the Murray Ledger & Times, Danville Advocate-Messenger, Providence Journal-Enterprise, Sebree Banner, and Winchester Sun.

The essays are based upon Bolin’s lived experiences as a history educator, and this collection features some of his favorite pieces. Home and Away: A Professor’s Journal has been widely praised by higher education officials in the Murray area and throughout the state.
